The long-running paternity dispute involving Nigerian businessman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest and Kenyan woman Hellen Ati has once again become a trending topic on social media.
The controversy resurfaced after Hellen Ati claimed that her child was unwell and renewed her call on the celebrity barman to take responsibility for the child she alleges is his son.
Her latest appeal generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users expressing sympathy and urging Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, to put an end to the controversy by agreeing to a DNA test.
Cubana Chief Priest Responds
Reacting to the growing criticism, Cubana Chief Priest dismissed the pressure from some social media users, accusing them of trying to take advantage of his wealth and celebrity status.
“Celebrity no suppose get shame. Shebi na my money una dey hustle like this. One thing na to make money, another thing na to protect am from urchins like you people,” he wrote.
The nightlife entrepreneur also maintained that anyone claiming to have a child for him should approach him directly rather than making videos on social media.
“If you have a child for me too, bring the child to any of my outlets or my residence. If you born for person, bring am to the person, no use am dey do video,” he added.
Social Media User Calls for DNA Test
Amid the heated exchanges, an Instagram user identified as @emem_kemskelly_ukem criticized the prolonged nature of the dispute and urged the businessman to undergo a DNA test.
According to the user, the matter had dragged on for too long and could continue to affect both his public image and family.
“Go and do DNA, Pascal. This rubbish is too bad on your image as a well-known person. Even on your family too. This DNA thing should have been done since before it escalated to this level. Una no get any atom of shame,” the user wrote.
Responding to the suggestion, Cubana Chief Priest stated that he was willing to take a DNA test but proposed that it be carried out publicly.
“Make una help me bring her and the child for una studio. Make I come there come do the DNA for una on live TV for free,” he replied.
Hellen Ati Reacts
Hellen Ati, however, was quick to respond to the proposal, alleging that Cubana Chief Priest had previously promised to undergo a DNA test but failed to follow through.
Referencing an earlier interview, she questioned the sincerity of his latest offer and insisted she would not back down until a DNA test is conducted.
“Pascal, you are saying that I should go and do DNA on a live TV station, yet this is what you said on Ebuka’s live show last year, that you would do the DNA, but you ran away. So you think this one is a joke?
“Pascal, we will die here together. I will never back down until the DNA is conducted,” she said.
