Nigerian man has triggered widespread conversations online after opening up about the intense pressure that often comes with turning 30.
In a now-viral video, he described the age as a turning point that forces many people to start thinking ahead — not just about their present, but about hitting 40 without achieving major life goals.
According to him, the expectations placed on people in their 30s can feel overwhelming.
He explained that society often assumes that by 30, individuals should already have their lives fully figured out — from owning a house and driving a car to running a successful business.
“Once you are 30, you are closer to 40… 40 is not far,” he said, highlighting how quickly time seems to move.
However, he pointed out that reality is often very different. Many people are still trying to find their path, build stable careers, or even raise enough money to execute their plans.
“You can plan and not have money to fund that planning,” he added.
Beyond finances, he also touched on relationship pressure — especially the expectation to be married by a certain age.
According to him, many individuals are judged for not settling down in their early 30s, even when they are still trying to achieve personal stability.
He noted that women, in particular, face even stronger societal pressure to marry within a specific age range.
This, he said, contributes to emotional stress that many people rarely talk about openly.
“The depression that comes with age 30… is really scary,” he admitted.
His statement has since resonated with many online, as people shared their own struggles with expectations, timelines, and the silent pressure to “have it all together” by a certain age.
