A young lady has sparked emotional reactions online after revealing what her father used to do every single night while she was growing up.
The lady, beemyli, said her father would quietly come into her room every night just to check on her while she slept.
Sometimes he would adjust her blanket… other times he would just stand there, sigh, and leave.
“I even used to pretend I was asleep just to see how long he would stay,” she wrote.
As she got older, the routine never stopped — which made her curious about the reason behind it.
But the truth only came out much later.
Her mother later revealed that when she was a baby, she once stopped breathing in her sleep — a moment that deeply traumatized her father.
From that day, he never fully trusted the night again.
“For years, he just needed to see my chest rise at least once before he could relax,” she added.
