A Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after recounting how her boss accused her of being disrespectful for offering to pay for two extra bus seats so they could leave early and she wouldn’t miss an important exam.
According to her, the incident occurred during a work trip that began on Friday and was scheduled to end on Monday, while her exam was set for Tuesday morning.
She explained that she had already informed her boss about the exam and requested that they return on Monday evening once the job was completed.
Recounting the situation, she said:
“We finished the job on Monday afternoon and I told my boss we could leave that same day, but he said he was tired and suggested we should leave very early the next morning.”
However, the plan did not go smoothly. The lady said her boss delayed their departure the next morning, and by the time they eventually arrived at the park, it was already around 9:30 a.m.
To make matters worse, the Sienna bus they intended to board was still waiting for two more passengers before it could depart.
Concerned about getting back in time for her exam, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
“Because of my exam, I offered to pay for the remaining two seats so we could leave immediately,” she explained.
Her decision, however, did not sit well with her boss. According to her, he became upset and accused her of being disrespectful and having “see finish,” arguing that it was inappropriate for a woman to pay for seats while a man was present.
Despite the tension that followed, the lady said she went ahead and paid for the two seats to ensure they could leave on time and so she would not miss her exam.
Since sharing the story, the incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether her actions were justified or if her boss had a point.
