Social media critic VeryDarkMan has criticised President Bola Tinubu over what he described as the government’s inadequate response to Nigeria’s worsening insecurity situation.
In a video shared online, the activist expressed frustration over recent remarks made by the president while addressing concerns about kidnappings, banditry, and violent attacks across parts of the country.
According to him, Nigerians expected clear answers and practical solutions to the rising wave of insecurity affecting communities, schools, and rural areas.
He argued that the president did not directly address the concerns raised and instead referenced religious narratives, which he said did little to reassure citizens who are living in fear.
VeryDarkMan further claimed that the scale of insecurity in the country suggests that the government is struggling to contain the situation, calling for more decisive leadership and urgent intervention to restore public confidence.
In his words, he said:
“The commander-in-chief of the armed forces was asked about the insecurity issues that have gone further to claim lives, chase people out of their homes, school children and teachers as hostages to bandits… the president was asked about insecurity. Unfortunately, he couldn’t give an answer; instead he started talking about holy books and how Abraham took Isaac to the bush to sacrifice…”
He went on to criticise the leadership, stating that stronger action is needed to address the growing threat posed by armed groups across the country.
“Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not have the answers. He should step down before Boko Haram and other terrorist groups finish us all,” he added.
The video has since generated widespread reactions online, with users divided over his comments and the broader discussion around Nigeria’s security challenges.
