A man has gone viral after sharing his encounter with his ex-girlfriend and her husband at a Lagos airport, where he was unexpectedly handed dollars as a wedding gift.
The man, identified on Facebook as Comr Ishaku Kingsley Hassan, recounted that he had a brief conversation with the couple before his upcoming wedding. To his surprise, the husband offered him $300 in support, saying it was a gesture for his marriage.
“I said everything is going well, and then this man brought his wallet… low and behold, he handed me $100 bills, three notes ($300), and said it was marriage support. I was shocked, but I stayed calm, collected it, put it away, and thanked him properly,” Hassan shared.

He explained that he hadn’t handled any dollars since the start of 2026, having left Gombe for Abuja in search of money, which made the gesture even more unexpected.
The post also revealed a message from his ex-girlfriend expressing her disappointment over him accepting the money. She wrote:
“Why you disappoint me like this? You shouldn’t have accepted it in his presence, but you did, and even thanked him.”
Hassan responded humorously, saying: “I even want to sit down and thank him. I don’t envy Grace, please don’t package me in my helpers’ eyes.”
The post has since sparked reactions online, with many praising the husband’s generosity and others amused by the ex-girlfriend’s reaction.
