A Nigerian man living in the UK has sparked serious conversations online after sharing what he described as a troubling experience with his pastor β and people are divided π
According to his post, everything started shortly after he relocated abroad. What seemed like normal spiritual guidance quickly turned into something else β frequent requests for money.
At first, he didnβt mind. He gave willingly, believing he was supporting a spiritual leader.
But things took a turn when reality hit πΈ
The man explained that he had to slow down financially because he was trying to sort out his life and even save towards buying a car. Naturally, he expected understanding.
Instead⦠another request came.
βI thought he understood me,β he said, βonly for him to message me again asking for money.β
What shocked him the most was the reason that followed.
According to him, the pastor claimed he had been praying and making spiritual sacrifices on his behalf, even going as far as mentioning βmountains he had climbedβ because of him.
That was the breaking point.
The man said he immediately shut it down, made it clear he couldnβt continue, and gave credit for his progress to his family β not external pressure.
Then he did what many people are now reacting toβ¦
π He blocked the pastor everywhere.
Since the story surfaced, Nigerians have been sharing similar experiences, with some saying this is more common than people think, while others insist genuine spiritual leaders should never operate that way.
Now the big question is:
π Where do you draw the line between spiritual support and financial pressure?
Because this oneβ¦ it don open serious conversation ππ₯
