A woman has sparked debate on social media after sharing how she met her husband and married him just three months after they started dating.
In a post that has attracted widespread attention online, she explained that her approach to relationships changed after she decided she would no longer go out of her way to earn affection or constantly prove her worth to a partner.
A different dating mindset
According to her, her now-husband made his intentions clear from the beginning through his actions.
She revealed that he paid for her transportation to their first date, covered a food bill of more than ₦100,000, and even sent her home with takeaways afterward. A week into the relationship, she said he also bought her a wig after she mentioned wanting one.
Reflecting on the experience, she explained that she had made a conscious decision to stop being what she described as an “overly understanding girlfriend,” believing that someone genuinely interested in a relationship would naturally make the effort to show it.
“I billed him on our first date. He paid for my Uber. I ate food worth over ₦100k and he still got me takeaways.”
From dating to marriage in three months
The woman further disclosed that during the first two months of their relationship, she did not take on traditional domestic responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, or doing laundry for him.
According to her, both families met and completed a formal introduction within two months of dating. She added that it was only after that stage that she began doing “the little things naturally.”
By the third month, the couple got married.
She revealed that they have now been married for six years and have children together, describing their journey as proof that a relationship can move quickly when both partners are certain about what they want.
