A Nigerian man has shared a deeply emotional account of how a relationship he once valued reportedly ended in heartbreak after he returned from a six-month cinematography course outside Lagos.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), he described the woman as beautiful, loyal, and supportive, noting that she consistently stood by him even when he was financially unstable.

According to him, she often rejected advances from wealthier men and would openly identify him as her partner in public, which he said gave him confidence during a difficult period in his life.

He recounted:

“What she told me then was, ‘Don’t give me money, just always look good.’ That’s what she told me. Despite the fact that I didn’t have any car, she would tell other men, ‘That’s my man,’ and it gave me so much courage.”

The man explained that he later left Lagos to pursue a six-month cinematography training, a program he said was sponsored by the same woman. However, he claimed things changed before his return.

He added that the woman’s mother had tried to caution him that something was not right, but he did not take the warning seriously until he got back and allegedly discovered that his girlfriend was pregnant.

“I thought the pregnancy was mine, but because of the love her mother had for me, she told me she couldn’t allow me to father another person’s child,” he said.

He further revealed that the situation affected him deeply and left him emotionally devastated.

“The whole thing really broke me down. I almost jumped from a storey building because of the incident,” he added.

The story has since sparked mixed reactions online. While many social media users expressed sympathy for him, others questioned aspects of his decisions in the relationship and how events unfolded.

One user commented, “She even tried, if na me I won’t even wait up till that time.” Another wrote, “Love is painful when trust is broken like this.”
