A Nigerian lady has sparked mixed reactions online after openly sharing what she believes are five reasons some men may not want to date or marry her.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter), she was candid about her views on relationships, finances, and domestic responsibilities—insisting that she prefers to be upfront about her expectations rather than compromise them later.
One of her key points centered on submission in relationships. She made it clear that she does not subscribe to the idea of a one-sided dynamic where one partner leads while the other follows. Instead, she advocates for what she described as mutual respect and shared responsibility between partners.
“I’m not submissive. I don’t believe in submission. Two people are together, two people should be submitting to each other. Some days you submit to me, some days I submit to you. It’s a mutual respect thing,” she said.
She also addressed financial expectations in relationships, stating that she believes a man’s money should be shared between both partners, while her own income remains personal. According to her, this perspective is shaped by how she was raised and the examples she saw growing up.
“I feel like your money is our money, my money is my money,” she explained, adding that she is not accustomed to financially supporting men since she grew up in a home where her father provided for her mother.
The lady further revealed that her upbringing has influenced the standard she now expects in a partner, noting that she was “overly pampered” and tends to be very selective as a result. She also admitted that she is not particularly inclined toward house chores, though she enjoys cooking when she feels like it.
“Cooking is therapy for me, not a necessity,” she added.
