A Nigerian lady has sparked conversations online after calling out what she described as a growing trend of men asking to visit and sleep over at the homes of single women.
In a video shared on social media, the young woman expressed shock and confusion, noting that she is still getting used to living alone and didn’t expect such experiences.
According to her, she had only been on her own for about four to five months when she started noticing the behaviour. She explained that she always thought it was men who typically invited women over—not the reverse.
She also pointed out that some of the men making these requests were not even in a relationship with her, which made the situation more uncomfortable and surprising.
Clearly puzzled, she questioned whether this has become a normal part of modern dating or if she was simply experiencing something unusual.
In her words, she wondered why men would boldly ask to come over and spend the night despite there being no emotional or romantic connection. Reflecting on the situation, she added that she now understands why her father was initially hesitant about her living alone.
Her video has since generated mixed reactions online. While some women shared similar experiences and agreed that such requests are becoming more common, others insisted that it largely depends on personal boundaries and the kind of people one associates with.
As the discussion continues, many have emphasized the importance of setting clear limits and staying cautious, especially for individuals navigating independent living.
