A lady has stirred conversations on social media after sharing how a friend reacted to the ₦15,000 she sent after being told the woman was hungry and stranded.
According to her, the friend had reached out, explaining that she was in a difficult situation with no one else to turn to for help. Although she didn’t have any Nigerian currency available at the time, she decided to send ₦15,000 so her friend could at least get something to eat.
However, instead of expressing gratitude, the recipient allegedly questioned the amount she received, leaving the sender shocked and disappointed.
Recounting the incident, the lady wrote:
“I just sent this money to a friend who complained she was hungry and stranded. She said she had nowhere else to run to, so I told her I didn’t have naira at the moment but she should manage this one to at least buy food.”
She continued:
“She just replied saying, ‘Shey na 15k I see send to her?’ Omo, make she send the ₦15k back. When I gather enough money, I go send her enough. Abi wetin una think?”
The post has since sparked mixed reactions across social media, with many users sharing differing opinions.
While some argued that any genuine act of kindness should be appreciated regardless of the amount, others suggested the recipient may have expected more based on her situation or that there could have been a misunderstanding between both parties.
