Peggy Ovire Accuses Frederick Leonard of Infidelity, Says Actor Is Delaying Divorce Proceedings
Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has publicly accused her estranged husband, Frederick Leonard, of infidelity and attempting to delay their ongoing divorce proceedings.
The actress made the allegations in a series of posts shared on her Instagram Story, claiming that Frederick was the one who initiated the divorce process but has repeatedly failed to appear in court after being served with the relevant documents.
“You said you wanted a divorce, yet you didn’t show up when you were served. Please don’t avoid the customary court for the second time on June 23 because I’m coming with receipts, and let’s get this divorce done and dusted,” she wrote.
Peggy also alleged that the actor is involved in a relationship with a married woman who has four children. According to her, Frederick had previously dismissed similar claims through a blogger before the divorce proceedings began.
The actress further claimed that after reviewing the details contained in her divorce petition, the actor opted not to appear in court personally and instead sent legal representation on his behalf.
“So-called traditional Igbo man with another Igbo man’s wife with four children. You ran to a blogger that I was lying, but when you were served and saw details of my petition, you knew I had seen one out of many,” she stated.
The latest accusations come months after Peggy shared a cryptic message on social media, asking women how they would react if they discovered their partner was involved with a married woman who had children.
Rumours of trouble in the couple’s marriage first surfaced when Frederick did not publicly celebrate Peggy’s birthday last year. Speculation intensified further after the actress shared Christmas photos without her husband.
Peggy Ovire and Frederick Leonard tied the knot in a star-studded traditional wedding ceremony held in Asaba, Delta State, on November 19, 2022.
As of the time of this report, Frederick Leonard has not publicly responded to the latest allegations made by his estranged wife.
