A Nigerian broadcaster, Emem Isong, has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing a strong message on Facebook about love, financial stability, and emotional responsibility in relationships.
Her post quickly went viral. She described how women gradually lose themselves while trying to support struggling partners.
“You ever seen a woman lose herself trying to love a man who had nothing to give her but stress? I have. And it’s ugly.”
She noted that many women begin with patience and belief but end up overwhelmed by responsibilities they did not expect.
Then she dropped the line that has everyone talking.
“A man with no money, no plan, no discipline has no damn business chasing love.”
She added that some men unfairly expect women to support them while they attempt to figure out their lives.
“If you can’t provide peace, protection, or progress — leave her alone.”
The internet is divided. One person wrote: “She is right. Love does not pay bills.” Another said: “So only rich men deserve love? That is shallow.”
Someone else added: “She didn’t say rich. She said a man with a plan and discipline. There is a difference.”
A different voice said: “Many women are tired of carrying dead weight in relationships. She spoke the truth.”
