The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has announced details of his final burial arrangements, with funeral activities scheduled to conclude on June 18, 2026.
Alexx Ekubo reportedly passed away on May 11 after battling kidney cancer, a development that left fans, colleagues, and the Nigerian entertainment industry in mourning.
In a statement shared via the actor’s official Instagram page on Monday, the family thanked supporters for their love and prayers while asking for continued strength during this difficult period.
According to the funeral programme released by the family, a service of songs will be held on June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos. The event is expected to run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with guests asked to attend in white outfits.
The wake ceremony is scheduled for June 17 at the family compound in Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The funeral service and interment will then take place on June 18. The church service is billed to hold at Mary Slessor School, after which the late actor will be laid to rest at his family residence in Arochukwu.
A reception is also expected to follow immediately after the burial at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, with mourners encouraged to maintain the white dress code throughout the ceremonies.
The announcement has continued to draw emotional reactions online, as fans and colleagues prepare to bid farewell to the beloved actor.
