A pastor has stirred widespread reactions on social media after sharing his views on financial management in marriage, arguing that working wives should give their husbands full access to their earnings.

The clergyman made the remarks in a video that has since gone viral on TikTok, where he addressed what he described as the growing lack of financial openness in many marriages.

According to him, some marital challenges stem from situations where wives keep their finances completely separate from their husbands, treating money matters as private affairs rather than shared responsibilities.

“Your Husband Must Have Authority Over Your Money”

In the viral clip, the pastor emphasized that a husband should not be treated like an outsider when it comes to his wife’s finances.

“Any woman that is working and making money, your husband must have authority over your money. In fact, your ATM and PIN codes, your husband must know them. You will be the one to present the money to him, not your husband asking you to borrow him money,” he said.

He argued that financial transparency strengthens trust and unity within marriage, adding that wives should be willing to support their husbands financially when necessary.

Encourages Women to Spend on Their Husbands

The pastor further advised married women to use their income to honour and appreciate their husbands.

According to him, wives should not hesitate to spend their earnings on gifts and items that improve their husbands’ comfort and wellbeing.

“If you go to work and come back with salary, as a woman you should go shopping for your husband, buy him good shoes, clothes and wristwatches. Use all your money to honour your husband and you will see that he will keep supporting your growth,” he added.

Mixed Reactions Online

The comments quickly sparked debate across social media platforms, with users expressing sharply divided opinions.

While some agreed that financial transparency is essential for a healthy marriage, others questioned why the responsibility appeared to be one-sided.

One user wrote:

“So will the husband also hand over his ATM card and PIN to his wife?”

Another commenter reacted humorously, saying:

“Use all your money to honour your husband in this economy? Yabaleft pastor 😂.”

Others argued that successful marriages are built on mutual trust, communication, and shared financial decisions rather than one partner having complete control over the other’s finances.

As the video continues to circulate online, it has reignited conversations about money, gender roles, and financial independence within modern marriages.
