A heartbreaking incident has left many in shock after a mother reportedly collapsed and died while waiting for her daughter outside a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre in Ondo State.

The deceased, identified as Oluwasola Victoria Adebayo, had accompanied her daughter to the exam venue at Ilara-Mokin Junction in Ifedore Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses said she began to complain of sudden weakness shortly after arriving at the location.

Moments later, she reportedly slumped, causing panic among bystanders who rushed to her aid.

Despite immediate efforts to revive her, she was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.

What makes the situation even more painful is that her daughter was inside the examination hall at the time, completely unaware of the tragedy unfolding outside as she continued writing her paper.

The incident drew a crowd of shocked residents, many expressing deep sorrow over the sudden loss.

Confirming the development, the Ondo State Police Command described it as unfortunate, adding that the family has been contacted and the remains released to relatives.

As of now, the exact cause of her death has not been determined.

The incident has once again highlighted the emotional and physical strain many parents go through during exam periods — a day that began with hope, ending in devastating loss.
