A lady has gone viral after sharing how a surprise visit to her boyfriend ended in disappointment and emotional regret.
The lady, identified as @justmercy on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that she lied to her mother, claiming she was attending a night vigil, but instead embarked on a journey to see her boyfriend.
According to her, she went out of her way to surprise him, even spending her last money on food items during the trip.
However, things did not go as expected when she arrived.
In her words:
“When I arrived, he wasn’t excited. He was irritated. He said I should’ve called first. I laughed it off, I even bought food with the last of my money on my way, and spent the night on a cold chair because his bed was too small for both of us.”
She also revealed that her boyfriend had ignored her messages for two days prior to the visit, but she still proceeded with the journey after getting transport fare from her mother.
The experience, she said, became one of her biggest regrets in love.
In her final reflection, she wrote:
“That was the worst thing I’ve ever done for love, forgetting my own worth. Men are scum. Never again.”
