The controversy surrounding a nursery school textbook has taken a new turn after the author responded sharply to a mother who raised concerns about its content.
The issue started when a parent went online to question a story her 5-year-old child was asked to read, saying it didn’t sit right with her and could affect how young kids understand certain things.
But instead of backing down, the author came out strong.
“She’s too small for me to explain to… she wasn’t born when I started teaching,” he said.
He also criticised the mother for taking the matter to social media instead of reaching out to him directly, insisting there is nothing wrong with the book.
His response has now added fuel to the conversation, with many Nigerians reacting to both the book’s content and his tone.
While some people believe authors should be open to feedback, especially when it involves children, others argue that social media call-outs may not always be the best approach.
Either way, the debate is getting louder — and people definitely have opinions.
