Media personality Rufai Oseni has condemned the reported killing of teachers in Oyo State, describing the incident as a troubling reflection on how little Nigeria values education and educators.
In an emotional statement, he expressed deep concern over what he called public silence and lack of outrage following the attack.
“Teachers were beheaded in Oyo State and we are quiet about it. Do you know the role of a teacher in the life of a country? There is nothing a country can become without a teacher.”
He stressed that teachers play a foundational role in national development and deserve stronger protection and recognition.
“But we have become a country where teachers are beheaded and we are quiet. A country that does not cry and seek justice.”
He reminded Nigerians that the victims could have been anyone’s brother, sister, or everything. “Just imagine how a person that loved that teacher the most would feel.”
The internet is reacting. One person wrote: “He is right. We are too quiet. This is unacceptable.” Another said: “The government needs to protect teachers. They are the backbone of the nation.” 😤
Someone else added: “Rufai always speaks truth to power. Where is the outrage?”
A different voice said: “Until teachers start getting the respect they deserve, this country will not move forward.”
The attack has sparked renewed calls for justice and better security for educators across Nigeria.
