A man’s post explaining how he got slapped by a woman at a mall has gone viral on social media.
The man, identified as @Doyinbiolaa on X (formerly Twitter), shared that the incident happened after he took a photo of the woman without her consent.
According to him, he had gone to the mall to get some snacks when he noticed the lady bending down to pick something. Thinking it would make a good candid shot, he decided to take a picture.

“Then I saw a girl bending down to pick something. I thought, ‘This would make a nice candid shot,’ only I forgot the shutter sound was on. Click. She looked up, our eyes met… and suddenly, I realized I might have just triggered a full-blown Lagos crisis,” he wrote.
Moments later, the woman approached him and demanded to know why he had taken her photo. Before he could properly explain himself, she slapped him.
He said he was left stunned by the incident and chose not to react.
“Face burning, snacks trembling in my hands, I just stood there questioning my life choices and mall safety,” he added.
The story has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many users criticizing his actions.
One user wrote, “Why would you even do that? This is why I don’t like stepping out.”
Another commented, “You overstepped your boundary. You shouldn’t have taken her picture without permission.”
A third added, “Taking someone’s photo without consent is wrong, you should know that.”
Others reacted more humorously, with one user saying, “Guy, you messed up. Sorry about the slap though.”
