A Nigerian woman has shared disturbing details of her mother’s kidnapping ordeal shortly after the victim regained freedom from abductors in Ogun State.

She recounted the events in an emotional video, explaining that her mother and brother had travelled together to a farm earlier in the day and were still in contact shortly after arriving.

Initial communication before abduction

According to her, she had spoken with both of them on arrival and even received photos, which made the situation seem normal at the time.

“My mum and my brother travelled… they even travelled before I woke up. When they got there, I spoke with my brother, I spoke to my mum, we even sent pictures,” she said.

However, communication with her brother suddenly stopped, which she initially assumed was due to network issues.

Kidnappers allegedly demand ransom

The situation reportedly escalated when she later received a voice note from her mother indicating that they had been kidnapped.

She said the abductors initially demanded ₦100 million, which was later negotiated down to ₦50 million.

She added that subsequent calls from her mother confirmed that negotiations for ransom payment were ongoing.

“I saw my mum’s notification come in… she sent a voice note. This morning again, she called and asked how much have we raised?” she recounted.

Brother’s whereabouts still unknown

The woman also expressed deep concern over the whereabouts of her brother, saying she has been unable to reach him since the incident.

When she asked her mother about him, she was told he had been taken separately and that his location remains unknown.

“I asked her where my brother was, she said she has not seen my brother,” she added.

Public concern grows

The incident has sparked widespread concern online, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy for the family and calling for urgent intervention from security agencies.

As of the time of reporting, the whereabouts of the brother remain unknown, while efforts to secure the safe release of all victims are reportedly ongoing.
