Mother of Nine Appeals for Help After Giving Birth to Quadruplets in Abeokuta
A Nigerian woman has made a heartfelt plea to the government and the public after giving birth to quadruplets at the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, adding to her already large family of five young children.
Shock and Surprise After Delivery
The 40-year-old mother revealed that doctors initially told her she was expecting just one child. Later, she was informed she was having twins and ultimately discovered she was carrying four babies.
“I didn’t know o, we didn’t know. First they said it was one baby, when we went back they said it is two, we went again they said it is four babies,” she tearfully recounted.
The unexpected development has left her overwhelmed and fearful about how to care for her growing family.
Family Pressure and Financial Strain
The birth of the quadruplets has put enormous pressure on her family. She said her husband nearly ran away after the delivery, though he has since been persuaded to stay.
“My husband wanted to run away when I gave birth, but people have been advising him to stay,” she explained.
“I can’t do this alone. My life is not going well o,” she added, lamenting her difficult financial situation.
Plea for Support
In her emotional appeal, the mother called on the Nigerian government and compassionate citizens to come to her aid.
“Nigeria, please help me. Government, please come to my aid. I’m just 40 years old with nine children.”
Her story has sparked widespread attention on social media, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy and urging government agencies, charities, and humanitarian organizations to provide urgent assistance to help her manage the sudden responsibility of raising nine children.
