The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has shared a powerful personal story highlighting faith, patience, and long-term vision.
From a Simple Prayer to a Bigger Promise
According to Adeboye, he once prayed to God for a house, but believed he received a divine response that something far greater—a city—was in store for him.
“Years ago when I asked God for a house, He said don’t ask me for a house, I’ve decided to build you a city,” he recounted.
Doubt and Skepticism
He explained that when he initially shared this vision with others, many reacted with doubt and even laughter, finding it hard to believe.
“When I told my people, they laughed… well, they’re not laughing anymore now,” he said.
Vision Becomes Reality
Adeboye stated that the vision has since materialized into a developed community where many people now own homes.
He described the area as a well-structured environment with stable electricity, constant water supply, and a high level of security, allowing residents to move freely even at night.
A Message of Faith and Patience
His story has sparked reactions online, with many drawing inspiration from the message of believing in a bigger vision despite doubt and criticism.
As conversations continue, the cleric’s testimony serves as a reminder of the power of faith, patience, and seeing beyond immediate expectations.
“Years ago when I asked God for a house, he said don’t ask me a house, I’ve decided to build you a city. When I told my people, they laughed, well, they’re not laughing anymore now cos they have their houses in that city. A city where water never goes off and there’s light 24/7.… pic.twitter.com/57f2GHzHs0
