A Nigerian student has finally spoken out to clarify the circumstances surrounding a viral incident in which she rejected a public marriage proposal on her university campus.
The lady, a student at the University of Cross River State and known online as Angelgrey TV, became a trending topic after a video showed her turning down a proposal in front of other students.

Responding to the growing reactions online, she explained that the man involved is merely a friend and that there has never been any romantic relationship between them. Contrary to assumptions circulating on social media, the two have never dated.
She also dismissed claims that the man had sponsored her education or financially supported her in any way.
Surprised by the public proposal
The student further revealed that she was completely unaware of the proposal plan. According to her, the man appeared on campus on her birthday with an engagement ring and staged a public proposal without prior discussion.
“There had been no conversation about marriage between us, so the situation was completely shocking. Because of how unexpected it was, I had no choice but to reject the proposal in public,” she explained.
