“I Traveled 10 Hours for Love” – Lady Left Heartbroken After Meeting Snapchat Boyfriend for the First Time
A Nigerian lady has gone viral on TikTok after sharing her disappointing experience of travelling from Lagos to Abia State to meet a man she had been talking to online.
The lady, identified as @NomzyRN on TikTok, narrated how she embarked on a 10-hour road trip to finally meet her Snapchat love interest, only for the encounter to leave her feeling heartbroken and disappointed.
Excited Journey Ends in Disappointment
According to her, she had developed a connection with the man through Snapchat and decided to take the bold step of meeting him in person.
However, upon arriving in Abia State, she claimed the reality did not match the image she had formed of him online.
The TikTok user alleged that she discovered the man had a missing front tooth and was living with his sisters, details she said had never been disclosed during their online conversations.
Expressing her frustration, she lamented the risks she took travelling such a long distance, especially amid ongoing security concerns on Nigerian roads.
Sharing her experience, she wrote:
“POV: You took a 10-hour bus from Lagos to Abia to finally meet the guy you met on Snapchat. I’ve been catfished, guys. He’s even living with his sisters and he has no front tooth. After risking my life with the current bandit situation.”
Social Media Users React
The video quickly gained attention online, with many TikTok users trooping to the comment section to share their opinions on the situation.
One user, @Amaka-Onuoha, encouraged the lady not to judge the man solely based on his current circumstances.
“Doesn’t mean he will remain at this level forever. Look out for his potential and prospects before taking a decision. Many successful people today once lived with friends, brothers, or sisters before making it.”
Another user, @switspicey, jokingly wrote:
“Na why I dey always beg for money first.”
Meanwhile, @Everyhome essentials by tee questioned whether the man was truly living with his sisters, while @lizzyblessing03 simply asked:
“Have you blocked him?”
The video has continued to spark debate online, with many users sharing their own experiences of meeting online love interests for the first time and discussing the importance of honesty in online relationships.
