The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially adjusted its schedule ahead of the 2027 general elections — and the new dates are already stirring reactions.
According to party spokesman Duro Meseko, the presidential primary has been moved from May 15 to May 23, 2026, alongside changes to other key activities.
The decision, announced after an NWC meeting in Abuja, is aimed at aligning with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, the Electoral Act, and the Nigerian Constitution.

The party also made it clear that forms are open to all members, shutting down rumours of restricted access.
On how candidates will emerge, APC confirmed it will use direct and consensus primaries, but with a twist — if any aspirant rejects consensus, the process automatically switches to direct voting.
The updated timetable also includes congress activities in Zamfara State, as the party intensifies internal preparations.
With these changes, APC says it is now fully set for the 2027 race — but many are already watching closely to see how the process unfolds.
