Alex Iwobi described his stunning long-range strike in Fulham F.C.’s 2–1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur F.C. as “unique,” insisting the technique is one only a few players can execute.
The midfielder scored Fulham’s second goal in the 34th minute, unleashing a first-time effort from around 25 yards after a neat exchange with Harry Wilson. The powerful strike clipped the inside of the post before finding the net, doubling Fulham’s lead following Wilson’s early opener.
‘I found the far corner’
Reflecting on the moment, Iwobi explained the thought process behind the finish.
“Unique. I don’t think anyone else opens up the hip and hits it like that,” he said. “When the ball was set back, I only had one thought on my mind, and I found the far corner. It’s something I practise in training, so my team-mates aren’t surprised.”

Tottenham pulled one back in the 66th minute through Richarlison, but they were unable to find an equaliser, handing head coach Igor Tudor a second consecutive league defeat.
In Control Despite Late Pressure
Iwobi maintained that Fulham were largely in control of the London derby, even if the scoreline suggested a tight contest.
“Another London derby — it’s always special when we play in front of our fans. We’re grateful to get the result today,” he said.
“The scoreline makes it look close, but we felt we controlled the game and created so many chances. We didn’t take all of them, so it got a bit shaky towards the end, but we stayed strong.”
The victory boosts Fulham’s push for European qualification, with Iwobi’s spectacular strike already being tipped as a contender for the league’s monthly goal award.
