Apple has released iOS 26.4.1 and iPadOS 26.4.1, bringing a quick fix for a critical iCloud syncing issue affecting devices running iOS 26.4. While the update contains no new security patches, it resolves a bug that prevented notifications for iCloud changes, causing some apps to not receive updated data across devices.
The bug impacted both first- and third-party CloudKit apps, including Apple’s own Passwords app, leaving users frustrated with delayed or missing iCloud updates. According to Apple Developer Forum reports, the problem is fully addressed in this latest release.
Users running the iOS 26.5 beta were not affected by the issue. To install the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update and follow the on-screen prompts.
Apple encourages all affected users to update immediately to ensure smooth iCloud syncing and app performance.
