Authorities in Singapore have arrested a 26-year-old man accused of illegally accessing studio servers and leaking an unreleased film connected to Avatar: The Last Airbender.
According to investigators, the suspect allegedly broke into systems belonging to Paramount Pictures, bypassing security protections to download and distribute protected content online.
The arrest was carried out after a digital investigation linked unauthorized access to the leaked material, despite the suspect initially claiming the incident was accidental.
“Someone accidentally sent it to me,” he reportedly said in his defence.
Investigators dispute his claim
However, cybersecurity analysis reportedly contradicted his statement, with forensic evidence showing deliberate access to restricted servers rather than an accidental file transfer.

- Up to seven years imprisonment
