Nigeria’s ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), is in the spotlight for a fresh leadership showdown after Alhaja Hafsatu Danladi boldly declared herself the real National Chairperson. Her announcement comes amid claims that the current party leadership lacks legitimacy, setting the stage for a potential court showdown.

In a press statement released Wednesday, Danladi said she would take the matter to the Federal High Court in Abuja to challenge the existing National Working Committee (NWC) led by Nentawe Yilwatda.
“This is about restoring due process and protecting the integrity of our party. I hereby assert my position as the true and authentic Chairperson of the APC,” Danladi said, emphasizing that her claim is fully backed by law.
Calling INEC to Act
Danladi also revealed plans to petition INEC to withdraw recognition from the current NWC, describing it as illegitimate. “This step is necessary to uphold the rule of law and ensure proper governance within the party,” she added.
