A businessman has reportedly ended his relationship after discovering that his girlfriend’s sister was allegedly behind the steady disappearance of food items from his restaurant, a revelation that has sparked intense reactions online.
The story, which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), was shared by a lady who explained how the restaurant owner became suspicious after noticing that his business was no longer generating profits despite spending heavily on restocking supplies.
According to the narration, the businessman reportedly spent over ₦300,000 on food items every five weeks to keep the restaurant running. However, the income coming in allegedly failed to match the amount being invested, leaving him worried that something was wrong.
Determined to uncover the source of the losses, he reportedly installed a hidden CCTV camera inside the restaurant without informing any of the workers.
The camera allegedly exposed his girlfriend’s sister, who worked at the restaurant, secretly packing food items into nylon bags and taking them away.
According to the post, the theft was not a one-time incident. After reviewing the footage for several days, the businessman allegedly discovered that the same act was repeated for three consecutive days.
After gathering enough evidence, he reportedly confronted his girlfriend and showed her the CCTV recordings before immediately dismissing her sister from the job.
The revelation allegedly left the girlfriend stunned and speechless. However, instead of supporting his decision, she reportedly accused him of being too harsh and unforgiving toward her family member.
The disagreement eventually escalated and reportedly led to the collapse of their relationship.
Sharing the story online, the X user stated that the businessman stood firmly by his decision, insisting that personal relationships should never come before his business.
