Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has sparked reactions after sharing his opinion on how women should handle infidelity in relationships and marriage.

Speaking during a podcast, he stated that women should not immediately focus on themselves when their partners cheat. Instead, they should try to understand the situation and help their men overcome it.

“When your man cheats on you, the first thing you should do is try to find ways to help him come out of that problem and make him stop cheating on you. Don’t be self-seeking about it.”

He explained that cheating should be approached as an issue that needs attention and resolution, rather than something to react to emotionally alone.

The actor, who has been married to entrepreneur Toyosi Etim-Effiong since 2017, advised women to focus on communication and understanding if they want to build stronger relationships.

The internet is divided.

One person wrote: “So women are now therapists for cheating men too?”

Another said: “Communication is important, but cheating is still a choice.”

Someone else added: “He is speaking from a place of privilege. Not every woman should tolerate cheating.”

A different voice said: “He has a point. But the man must also be willing to change.”

What do you think should women help their cheating partners or walk away?
