Afro-house singer Niniola has announced the passing of her husband, Michael Ndika. The Grammy-nominated artiste broke the news in a series of emotional posts on her Instagram page early Wednesday morning.

“God took him,” she wrote in her first post. In another, she added simply, “My husband died.”

Then came the words that truly broke hearts: “God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years.”

The couple had been together for over a decade. Thirteen years of love, memories, and building a life together — now cut short.

Details surrounding Ndika’s death have not been publicly disclosed. He was the CEO of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on afro-house and contemporary African music.

Niniola has always kept her private life away from the public eye. But this morning, she chose to share her pain with the world.

Fans and fellow artists have flooded her comment section with condolences. One person wrote: “This is heartbreaking. May God comfort you, Niniola.” Another said: “13 years is a long time. I can’t imagine your pain.”

Someone else added: “Stay strong, queen. We are praying for you.”

The cause of death is still unknown to the public. For now, all that is clear is the grief of a woman who lost the man she loved.
