A lady has sparked emotional reactions online after narrating how her repeated acts of kindness toward a neighbor were not returned when she needed help.
She said her female neighbor once knocked on her door late at night after a power outage. She welcomed her warmly, let her charge her phone, made tea, and they talked until almost 1am.
Two weeks later, the neighbor came again with another problem. She welcomed her again without hesitation.
“I believed that was how people should treat each other,” she said.
Months later, her car broke down three streets away. She called the same neighbor for help. The woman sounded irritated and asked: “Is there nobody else you can call?”
She was shocked. After all the late-night favors, she couldn’t get a simple helping hand.
The internet is reacting. One person wrote: “Some people are takers. They will drain you and never give back.”
Another said: “She showed you who she was. Believe her and move on.”
Someone else added: “This is why I don’t go overboard for people anymore. Many are not worth it.”
A different voice said: “Not everyone deserves your kindness. Save it for those who appreciate it.”
What do you think — should she confront the neighbor or just distance herself?
