A Nigerian lady has shared a story that is breaking hearts online. She asked her neighbour why he leaves his porch light on every single night.
His answer left her speechless.
He told her that ten years ago, his 17-year-old son ran away after an argument. The boy was angry and proud. The father, in anger, said: “If you leave, don’t come back.”
The boy left. No calls. No texts. Nothing for ten years.
But every night, the old man left the light on. Just in case his son forgot the way home.
Three weeks after their conversation, she woke up to shouts outside. She saw a man hugging the elderly neighbour. Both were trembling.
The son was 27 years old. He admitted that he had been driving by the house constantly for years. He just never had the courage to walk in.
