A senator of the ruling All Progressives Congress has sparked widespread reactions after emotionally addressing the Senate over the worsening situation in Nigeria.
Senator Smart reportedly became emotional during a Senate session. He called on President Bola Tinubu and fellow lawmakers to urgently address the growing hardship facing Nigerians.
“President Tinubu should understand that we, the loyal supporters of the APC, can no longer remain silent. Our security system has collapsed, and every part of this country now lives under fear and uncertainty.”
He went further. “If we cannot save this nation, then we should as well shut down the National Assembly. There is hunger everywhere, poverty is increasing, and Nigerians are suffering daily.”
The internet is reacting. One person wrote: “Even APC senators are now crying. This shows how bad things have become.”
Another said: “He spoke the truth. But will anyone listen?”
