A young woman has gone viral on social media after sharing how she stepped in to help her boyfriend address a situation involving friends who had allegedly turned his apartment into their permanent hangout without contributing to household expenses.
According to her, her boyfriend had repeatedly complained that several of his friends stayed in his apartment regularly despite having homes of their own. She claimed they neither contributed to rent nor paid for food, electricity, or other household bills, leaving him to bear all the financial responsibilities.
She said she advised him several times to ask them to leave, but he was reluctant to do so because they had been friends for many years.
How she stepped in
Determined to help, the woman said she decided to take matters into her own hands. She bought food items, moved into the apartment temporarily, and began cooking for everyone.
According to her, the arrangement continued for a few days.
Sharing her experience, she said:
“My boyfriend has always complained about his friends living in his apartment when they have theirs. They don’t pay any bills. He pays all the house expenses while they live on him.
“I suggested that he tell them to leave. He said he couldn’t because they’ve been together for long. So I took matters into my hands. I went there with foodstuffs, cooked, and served everyone on the first day.
“The second day, the soup finished. My guy gave me money to cook another pot, and that one also finished the next day.
“On the fourth day, I asked them to contribute ₦50,000 so I could cook another pot of soup. One of them replied, ‘Ha, iyẹn lór far o.'”
Her response suggested the request exposed the friends’ unwillingness to contribute financially, despite benefiting from the meals and other household resources.

While some praised her for helping her boyfriend establish boundaries that he found difficult to enforce, others argued that she overstepped by getting involved in his friendships.
