A woman has been left heartbroken after discovering a series of messages between her husband and another woman.
The lady, known as @TheKingDaughtta on the X (Twitter) platform, revealed that she came across the messages while helping her husband with his phone.
Lady Shares Heartbreaking Discovery
According to her, the discovery happened unexpectedly while she was checking something on her husband’s phone. While scrolling through his chats, she noticed a conversation where he had shared the city he lives in with another woman and appeared to be engaging her in a friendly tone.
What shocked her the most was a message in which her husband wrote, “I’m surprised you are still single.”
She explained that the statement deeply unsettled her, as she could not understand why a married man would say such a thing to another woman.
“Then I saw a message where he said, ‘I’m surprised you are still single.’ That statement alone shook me, because how does a married man say that to another woman?” she wrote in part of her post.
Curious and troubled, she scrolled further up the conversation and discovered an older message sent before their marriage. In it, the woman had reportedly shared a photo of herself wearing lingerie.
Husband’s Explanation Raises Questions
When she confronted her husband about the messages, he initially tried to explain the relationship by claiming the woman was his cousin.
However, the explanation only raised more questions for her.
“I confronted him calmly, asking why he was talking to this lady and complimenting her like that even before we got together. Guess what he said? ‘Oh, she’s my cousin,’” she recounted.
Confused by the claim, she wondered if something inappropriate was going on. Her husband later changed his story, saying the woman was not actually his cousin but rather connected to the family through marriage.
“Later he changed his story and said, ‘Oh, I just call her cousin. She’s actually my cousin’s ex-wife’s cousin,’” she added.
Wife Leaves the House
Feeling deeply hurt and unsettled by the discovery, the woman said she decided to leave the house temporarily. She checked into a hotel in order to clear her head and reflect on the situation.
Her post has since sparked conversations online, with many social media users sharing mixed reactions and offering advice on how she should handle the situation.
