“Comedians earn more than people think”
According to Shank Comics, top comedians like Bovi Ugboma and Basketmouth are actually richer than some Afrobeats stars, including Asake, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.
He explained that while musicians often showcase expensive cars, jewelry, and lavish lifestyles, many comedians prefer to keep a low profile and focus on building wealth behind the scenes.
Focus on investments over luxury
Shank Comics suggested that comedians tend to be more intentional about securing their financial future, choosing investments over extravagant spending.

“I think there is more money in comedy than music. Bovi and Basketmouth are far richer than Asake, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and other musicians, but they prefer to invest rather than buy cars.
Comedians are very conscious of the future, so they invest more than they spend, and they don’t spend lavishly on luxuries.
A lot of comedians can actually afford the kind of luxury cars musicians buy.”
