Veteran Nollywood actor Vitalis Ndubuisi has advised people to be more careful about how much they share with others when going through personal struggles, saying not everyone is meant to carry your burdens.
According to him, one of the biggest mistakes people make in life is believing that opening up to everyone will automatically bring relief or solutions.
“One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in life is to stop telling people everything that is wrong with you,” he said.
He explained that while people may listen and even act concerned, they can never truly feel or understand the depth of what someone is going through unless they are in the same situation.
“It’s a big mistake to think that after explaining what you’re going through, people will offer relief. At the end of the day, nobody truly understands the full weight of your problem because they are not living it with you,” he added.
The actor further warned that oversharing can sometimes have unintended consequences, including emotional distance from those you confide in.
“Sometimes after you explain everything to people, they even start to withdraw from you,” he noted.
His message has since sparked conversations online, with many agreeing that discretion and emotional boundaries are important in relationships and friendships.
