A man has publicly accused Nigerian content creator Papaya Ex of failing to pay his sister’s salary, claiming she worked as the influencer’s personal assistant and was owed her monthly wages.
In an audio recording that has since gone viral on social media, the man alleged that his sister earned a monthly salary of ₦120,000 while working for Papaya Ex.
According to him, the dispute began after the content creator’s phone was reportedly stolen during the premiere of a movie produced by actress Toyin Abraham.
The man claimed that his sister was ultimately made to bear the cost of replacing the missing device, a development that prompted him to intervene on her behalf.
The situation allegedly escalated when Papaya Ex seized his phone. He further alleged that while pleading with the content creator’s mother to help secure the release of his device, he was struck with a spade.
“For three days, despite knowing that I am a videographer and rely on my phone for work, she has refused to return it. What am I supposed to do?” he said in the audio recording.
As of the time of filing this report, Papaya Ex and her management team have not publicly responded to the allegations.
The controversy comes shortly after Papaya Ex revealed that her iPhone 16 Pro Max went missing at the star-studded premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s movie, “The Return of Arinzo.”
Following the incident, the influencer took to Instagram to appeal for help in recovering the device and offered a reward of ₦700,000 to anyone who could return it.
The allegations remain unverified, and no official statement has been issued by Papaya Ex regarding the claims.
