
CDQ Reveals He Charged Davido $10,000 for His Private Chef Services
Nigerian rapper CDQ has opened up about his impressive culinary skills, revealing that he once charged fellow music star Davido $10,000 for a private cooking service.
Speaking during an appearance on the Jbrandy Entertainment Podcast, CDQ recounted how Davido requested his services as a chef while he was in Dubai. According to the rapper, he accepted the request and charged the DMW boss $10,000 for the experience.
The rapper also shared that his cooking talents have earned praise from several notable figures in the entertainment industry. He revealed that music icon D’banj and comedian AY Makun once visited his apartment, sampled his meals, and were highly impressed by his culinary abilities.
Beyond discussing his passion for cooking, CDQ also weighed in on the growing trend of artists leaving record labels after achieving success, offering his perspective on the challenges and realities of the music industry.
CDQ’s Journey to Success
CDQ’s rise to prominence began in 2013 after signing with General Records, a label founded by renowned producer Masterkraft.
In August 2023, the rapper was involved in a car accident in Lagos, an incident that led to his hospitalization.
Reflecting on his early success during a livestream with Carter Efe, CDQ revealed that one of the first major decisions he made after achieving fame was relocating his family to Spain.
“My family had been staying with me for over seven years. The moment I got my first major earnings, I moved my mother and siblings out of Nigeria and settled them in Spain,” he said.
The rapper explained that ensuring a better life for his family was a top priority, and relocating them abroad was one of the most meaningful investments he made after breaking into the music industry.
