Senator Ned Nwoko has suffered a massive defeat in the APC senatorial primary election for Delta North. Former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa won the ticket by a landslide.
According to the final result, Okowa secured 113,309 votes. Nwoko managed only 2,612 votes. Another aspirant, Maryam Alli, got 40 votes.
In one ward alone Ward 9, Okpanam — Okowa scored 4,462 votes while Nwoko got just 3 votes.
The internet is reacting strongly. One person wrote: “So you want to tell me that only APC has over 115k members in Delta North alone? Nawa oo.”
Another said: “Congratulations Eze vampire. Grandpa Ned will still be the candidate of APC from the Abuja result.”
Someone else added: “Okowa’s structure is what is on ground in Delta APC. Before leaving as governor in 2023, Okowa collapsed Ibori’s old structure and built a new one.”
A different voice said: “This one sweet me pass. Congrats, Sen Okowa. Make EPA go rest.”
The result has sent shockwaves through political circles. Nwoko, who is married to actress Regina Daniels, will now have to rethink his political strategy.
What do you think is this the end of Senator Ned Nwoko’s political career?
