A man has gone viral after sharing how a failed relationship in 2021 eventually pushed him into livestock farming instead of sponsoring his girlfriend’s education.
The unidentified man narrated the experience on social media while reflecting on how a personal setback later changed his financial direction.
According to him, his then-girlfriend had gained admission into school and requested financial support for her education expenses.
He explained that she estimated her schooling would cost about ₦400,000 at the time, but he only had ₦80,000 available.
“In 2021, my girlfriend got admission before me. She told me to sponsor her schooling and asked me to calculate the expenses. She said it would cost ₦400k, but I told her I only had ₦80k. She told me I was wicked, and broke up with me. I used the money to get two goats instead and today here we are,” he said.
The post quickly gained attention online, with many users reacting to the unexpected turn of events.
While some praised his decision to invest in livestock within his means, others said the story reflects how emotional setbacks can sometimes lead people toward more sustainable opportunities.
In recent years, livestock farming has become a growing alternative income source for many Nigerian youths, especially amid rising unemployment and economic challenges.
