Nigerian music star Rema has opened up about the reason behind his split from a former fiancée, describing the relationship as both beautiful and emotionally challenging.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the singer revealed that his former partner was “quite manipulative,” adding that the relationship often became a source of stress in his life.
According to Rema, the demands of his music career already exposed him to significant pressure, and he expected his home to be a place of peace and comfort. However, he said he frequently encountered additional emotional strain whenever he returned home.
The award-winning artiste explained that he eventually decided to walk away from the relationship because he could no longer cope with the situation.
Reflecting on his current stage in life, Rema disclosed that he is taking a break from romantic relationships to focus on personal growth and his career.
Despite acknowledging that the relationship had its beautiful moments, the singer maintained that prioritizing his well-being was necessary, ultimately leading to the difficult decision to end it.
