A new video has surfaced showing Mrs Alamu, the abducted principal kidnapped during a school attack in the Orrire community of Oyo State, appealing for urgent intervention to secure her release.
In the now-viral footage circulating on social media, she said she and other victims have spent about 13 days in captivity after being taken from Owo, calling on authorities and Nigerians for help.
“About 13 days ago, we were picked from Owo, and till now, we are still in the bush,” she said. “We are begging President Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, and every other well-meaning Nigerian to please help us.”
She also appealed directly to stakeholders including the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Nigerian youths, and other relevant bodies to assist in facilitating negotiations for their release.
According to her, the abductees are enduring extremely harsh conditions in the forest, with little protection from the weather.
“We are in the cold, we are under the sun, we are under the rain — both the children and the adults. Please, we are begging you in the name of God,” she said.
She further urged security agencies to prioritise dialogue and negotiation rather than forceful operations, stressing that such an approach would be safer for the victims.
“This does not call for force at all, just negotiate and dialogue with them,” she added.
The video has triggered renewed outrage across social media, with many Nigerians calling for urgent government action and improved security measures to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted principal, students, and other victims.
The Oyo school abduction continues to draw national concern as families and communities await updates on efforts to secure their release.
