Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has reacted to the recent surge in kidnappings reported in parts of Oyo State, expressing deep concern over the worsening security situation in the country.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the actress questioned the effectiveness of Nigeria’s security architecture and raised alarm over the growing confidence of armed groups operating in different communities.

She also criticized what she described as a culture of fear among citizens, insisting that Nigerians need to speak up more boldly about the insecurity affecting their daily lives.

“This is not about APC is not doing well, Tinubu is not doing well. We ourselves are not ready because we are too afraid. We are too afraid to speak and to stand by the truth,” she said.

Iyabo Ojo further questioned how bandits are able to invade communities, abduct residents, and carry out attacks despite the presence of security personnel tasked with protecting lives and property. She called on the government and security agencies to provide clearer answers on the challenges they are facing in tackling the crisis.

“I refuse to believe that these people are stronger than the Nigerian military,” she added, expressing frustration over the repeated incidents.

Her comments have since sparked widespread reactions online. While many Nigerians agreed with her concerns and praised her for speaking out, others argued about the shared responsibility of government and citizens in addressing insecurity.

The video continues to trend across social media platforms as discussions intensify over the rising cases of kidnappings and attacks in several parts of the country.
