Peter Obi Challenges Nigerians to Publicly Expose Any Wrongdoing Against Him
Former Anambra State governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians to openly reveal any wrongdoing they may know about him, stressing that transparency and accountability are essential for a healthy society.
Obi made the statement during a podcast interview with Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni, where he spoke about public scrutiny and the importance of holding leaders accountable.
During the conversation, Oseni remarked:
“So, you want Kenneth to go and expose you.”
Responding, Obi said he was not only open to criticism from Kenneth but from anyone who has credible information about him.
Obi Welcomes Public Scrutiny
According to Obi, public officials should not be shielded from scrutiny, adding that exposing wrongdoing helps strengthen institutions and promotes good governance.
“Not just Kenneth, everybody should now say those things they know that are bad about me or things I did that were wrong because it’s good for the system, it’s good for society,” he said.
The former governor further urged anyone with evidence of misconduct or questionable actions linked to him to bring it to the public’s attention.
“If you know that when we were in primary school, this man was cheating, or didn’t go to primary school, didn’t go to secondary school, or did something wrong, if you know this man has committed any crime anywhere, this is the time to bring it up,” Obi stated.
‘Bring It Up Now’
Obi maintained that any allegations against him should be openly presented for public scrutiny, emphasizing that transparency is necessary in public service and leadership.
His comments have since generated reactions online, with supporters praising his willingness to be held accountable, while others described the statement as a challenge to critics to provide evidence for any claims they may have against him.
The remarks have added to ongoing discussions about accountability, integrity, and transparency among public office holders in Nigeria.
