A female student has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing a surprising encounter with a potential admirer.
According to the student, who chose to remain anonymous, the incident happened while she was returning from an exam ball when she ran into a man who had been showing interest in her.
Student recounts awkward moment
The lady explained that she stopped to talk with him and decided to buy ice cream. However, when it was time to pay, she claimed her transaction failed due to network issues.
Things took an unexpected turn when the admirer bought ice cream only for himself, paid for it, and then left her standing there.
Feeling offended by the situation, the student said she later blocked and deleted his number, questioning how someone who wanted to ask her out could not pay for a simple snack.
She said:
“Even if you didn’t want to pay for my friends, just ₦200 for my Fanyogo. And then you want to ask me out? I can afford 50 pieces.”
